How do you explain to your 6 year old daughter that one of her classmates has been shot and killed by his own father?
What is wrong with our society? We need to be better people to each other. We need more peace in our own lives, so we can encourage peace in our fellow humans’ lives. We need to support and love each other. Not just our families and friends, but the freaks and the weirdos and the people that we don’t understand, and the people that scare us. Those are especially the people we need to love and support.
Please pray for all of us to be able to treat ourselves and each other with respect and dignity and love. If you don’t pray, chant or meditate or play long tones, or do whatever it is you do. Our world, and our childrens’ world depends on it.
My condolences to your family and all the families involved. Especially in the wake of the VT shootings.
Jeff,
I feel your pain. A next door neighbor of mine was killed in a domestic violence matter at 2 a.m. on the day of one of my daughters’ birthday party. It’s painful enough just to appreciate the vulnerability that arises out of the innocence of our little ones; to see full grown malice or tragedy is in contrast near impossible to stomach. God bless the little ones, especially the girls.
