The only thing better than props from musicians is props from plain old civilian music lovers.

I meant to mention the importance of these V5 CDs as the last one’s featuring Jeb, but I must have run out of wine and hit the post button before I got to that part.

Maybe I should mention here that I have left the V5, which is continuing with Fred Lonberg-Holm on cello. I caught most of their first gig with that lineup and it was excellent.

The issue about writing about your friends can be a bit tricky, especially if the writer is in the role of official or professional reviewer. There is definitely the potential, often actualized, for conflict of interest in that situation.

But one of the great things about being a musician is that you can often get to be friends with people whose work you admire, as is mutually the case with Jeff and me (go check out his stuff!).

Props from musicians generally mean a lot more to me than props from critics/writers.
