Jason Adasiewicz (friend, vibraphonist, Lucky 7s member, coffee meister, dog lover, secret weapon) has a new CD called Rolldown on 482 Music.

Check out the following video of his band. It was recorded at Strobe Recording Studio in Chicago, which happens to be the same place the soon to be released (well, soon as in sometime this decade) Lucky 7s CD was recorded.

Just like olden days

May 1st, 2008 Comments off

I thought I had gone time traveling and landed on a Monday sometime before August 2005, when I turned on my car radio Wednesday evening. The familiar voice brought a smile to my face, then “Silver at Six” put a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. “Back before then, we heard…”

It’s been almost three years, and I usually feel like we as a city are moving on and making positive progress, and then something will remind me of a particular person, or place, or thing that was a vital part of the scene, that simply isn’t here anymore, and a wave of sadness sweeps through me.

Fortunately many of these people are doing really well in other places. We still miss them though.
